  • How Many Calories Are In My Horse Supplements?

The average 500kg horse that is worked lightly requires around 16,700 calories per day. The foundation of feeding a horse should be fibre: grass, hay, haylage, or any combination. Straw can also be used but should not exceed 50% of total fibre intake.

When supplementing your equines nutrition it is key to be mindful of the additional calories this could be adding to their daily intake.

When feeding Science Supplements products, you don’t have to count the calories because we have for you. When fed in line with the recommended daily intake, the majority of our supplements contribute less than a handful of hay.
